They say they want the kingdom, but they don't want God in it...

Good news! It finally stopped raining after a full 24 hours of steady drizzle. The bad news- the reason it stopped raining was because the temperature dropped to 30 and the stuff falling from the sky turned from rain to sleet. I decided not to go out tonight because freezing rain is not my favorite to be walking around in.

I got up at 6 this morning to be at work by 7 for a floor tour and then a Capitol tour for 5 middle schools from Abilene. They were a really good group. We got through security quickly, and they mostly listened during the tour. I helped out with a tour for Rep. Mac Thornberry's office. It was 80 middle school students from Amarillo who had to be at the airport within an hour and a half. That is usually how long a normal tour takes. I managed to finish the tour and only skipped the gallery and get them back to their buses in 45 minutes.

After getting off an hour early, I walked back to my apartment in the rain, changed clothes, and hopped in bed for a nice two hour nap, and I am still pretty tired. Ben got back from the State Department and proceded to take a three hour nap. That is one of the many advantages of rainy days; they make for great napping!

I know you have all been anxiously waiting for the new edition of "The Grey's Anatomy Powerrankings." And to build the suspense, I will let you know that there is a new number 1 this week! So without further ado:

10. Izzie- she suffered a disasterous fall in the standing because while she started off being a supportive friend to George, she ended up sleeping with him, which pretty much eliminates any good relationship advice she might have given.
9. Chief- bringing in the new guy, Marlow, really hurts his rank.
8. Burke- he probably should be higher but I could not find a place to fit him in. He is kind of getting the raw end of the Christina deal. But after a while even though he is right, the righteous indignation gets old.
6. Thatcher's wife (tie)- she is making great strides to bridge the gap between Meredith and her father. Also, I think her name is Susan but I could be wrong.
6. Meredith (tie)- suprisingly, she moves up in this weeks rankings. It has more to do with actions of other characters rather than good things about her. I still don't like her.
5. Addison- She is becoming more and more likeable with every episode. Does anyone else think it is weird that she and Derek have matching scrub caps?
4. Derek- Very kind and compassionate with this episode, both in his dealings with his friend that he preforms surgery on and also with Thatcher.
3. Alex- I am glad he moved in with Meredith and Izzie. Also, he is showing just how good of a guy he is with the Jane Doe thing.
2. Dr. Bailey- No complaints about Miranda. I think we can all agree that she is the best candidate for chief, even if she is only a resident.
1. Dr. Collin Marlow- Before I get all kinds of angry cards and letters telling me how bad this new guy is, (which I agree with) the actor who plays Marlow, Roger Rees, also played Lord John Marbury on the West Wing. Any West Wing alum making a Grey's appearance automatically gets bumped to number 1 the week of their debut.

Dropping out of this weeks rankings: Christina- she was in a relationship for 3 years and did not bother to tell the man she is engaged too? Inexcusable. George- do I need to explain? Maybe he will get written off when they get rid of Callie. At this point, I think that might be too much to hope for.
Those not recieving votes: Callie- while George cheating is certainly not justifiable, she does kinda freak out on him just about every episode. Mark- if he ever gets ranked, the show is on the verge of cancellation. You can take that to the bank.

Two random notes- One, the Quiznos prime rib commercial has the most annoying girl in it ever. Every time she laughs at the end, I cringe. Also, so far all but one of my Sweet Sixteen teams are still in the tourney. So far so good. Today I wore my navy suit with a white shirt. I wore a tie for the tour but quickly took it off once I made it back to the office. Finally, congratulations to Miss Amy Tuegel for naming yesterday's song of the day. I saw Dave Matthews last year in San Antonio and he played "American Baby Intro," and it was great. Interestingly enough, he did not play "American Baby." You would think that if you played the intro you would play the song, but Dave is not bound by rules of logic. In a preview of topics for next week's blog postings, I am planning to write about two important topics- the separation of church and state and Blue Bell ice cream. I know you cannot wait. That's all for tonight...
