She said a hundred times...

Congratulations to Michael Roberts for correctly naming "Mysterious Ways" by U2 as yesterday's song of the day. Amy, consider yourself challenged. The man from Boerne has thrown down the gauntlet. I expect a thrilling battle everyday in the contest.

This morning I went to a budgetary hearing on NASA for one of our legislative assistants. It was called by the Science Committee, which is generally considered one of the worst committees to The meeting was pretty boring as they were talking about lots of programs that I have never heard about before. I can tell you that the shuttle is being retired in 2010 but its replacement vehicle, the CEV, will not be operational until 2015. The most exciting thing that happened was when Rep. Rohrabacher (R-CA) and Rep. Udall (D-NM) got into a semi-shouting match about global warming. The argument ended when the witness, NASA administrator Dr. Michael Griffin, offered to hold their jackets if they came to blows.

I also gave a tour today to some consituents from Rep. Culberson's office. He represents some part of Houston. I think it is the west part. One of the gentlemen was a little weird. He would lean in awfully close when I was talking and interrupt after about every third word with an "Oh" or a "Huh." While I certainly felt listened to, after the first five minutes it was very annoying. It was especially bad because we had to wait for at least an hour to get into the Capitol because of votes. (They do not let tours in when they are voting on the floor.

March Madness started today and after 10ish games, my bracket is still more or less intact. I had picked a few upsets that did not happen, but all of my Sweet Sixteen teams are still in the game. Currently, Duke is struggling against Virginia Commonwealth. The Aggies won after a suprisingly close game with Penn. The Good Congressman lost the battle of the Financial Services committee when Tech fell to Rep. Barney Frank's Boston College.

Today I wore my black suit with a white shirt and a green tie with yellow suns. I tried again to upload photos but was again unsuccessful. I do not know if it is something I am doing or something on Google's end, but the end of the story is that there are no pictures once again. The official countdown until I return home: 7 days. Grey's Anatomy is new tonight so look for a new powerranking tomorrow. That's all for tonight...
